During a massive attack, Russia launched 93 missiles at Ukraine, including at least one North Korean missile. The strikes included cruise and ballistic missiles, with 81 of them intercepted by Ukrainian air defence, according to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. Notably, 11 cruise missiles were shot down by F-16 fighter jets.
Russia also deployed nearly 200 drones in what has become one of the largest attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure.
“This is Putin’s ‘peaceful’ plan — destroying everything,” Zelenskyy stated. “He wants ‘negotiations’ by terrorising millions. Oil gives him the resources to act with impunity. The world must respond to this massive attack with a massive response to stop the terror.”
The President called for stronger international measures, including the supply of advanced air defence systems like the Patriot, to counter ongoing missile strikes. He emphasised the need to strengthen sanctions against Russia to hinder its missile production capabilities.
Zelenskyy also stressed that only decisive action can bring peace, urging the global community to confront Putin’s regime. “The madness in Moscow, responsible for over 20 years of terror, must be stopped. Strength is the key to ending this madness. Ukraine is deeply grateful to everyone who helps,” he said.
