On the night of 27 December, Russia launched an attack on Ukraine using two Iskander-M ballistic missiles from the Voronezh and Kursk Regions, as well as 24 Shahed attack UAVs and other types of drones from Orel, Bryansk, and Millerovo.
This was reported by the Ukrainian Air Force.
As of 09:00, 13 Shahed drones and other types of decoy drones were confirmed shot down in Poltava, Sumy, Kharkiv, Kyiv, Kirovohrad, Dnipropetrovsk, and Donetsk Regions.
Thanks to the active response of the Defence Forces, 11 Russian decoy drones were neutralised locally without causing any damage.
The air attack was countered by anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire groups of the Air Force and Defence Forces.
