The fifth president of Ukraine, MP Petro Poroshenko, said that the National Security and Defence Council had decided to impose sanctions on him.
"This is not news to me. I had all the information about the preparation of this provocation, but I believed that common sense would prevail until the last moment. But it didn’t happen.
The National Security and Defence Council has just made an unconstitutional, politically motivated decision to impose sanctions with absolutely illegal restrictions on me, Petro Poroshenko, as the leader of the opposition and the fifth president," Poroshenko said.
He stressed that "this crime has many accomplices: Zelenskyy's entire team, the Cabinet of Ministers, which was bent on an absurd submission, and members of his National Security and Defence Council".
According to Petro Poroshenko, the customer, executor and signatory of this decision was President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy himself.
Poroshenko stressed that Zelenskyy dealt a colossal blow to internal unity, and all responsibility for the negative consequences lies directly with him.
The fifth president of Ukraine said that "in the deep rear, a handful of those in power, parasitising on martial law, are building an authoritarian political regime in Ukraine, similar to the one Putin built in Russia". Accordingly, there are concerns about how these actions will affect European integration.
"Yes, it is significant that Poroshenko has been recognised as a terrorist and extremist by Vladimir Putin's court. Now his wording has been repeated almost verbatim by Zelenskyy's NSDC," Poroshenko concluded.
