In case of negotiations with Russia, a direct exchange of territories is possible.
This statement was made by Volodymyr Zelenskyy in an interview with The Guardian.
Zelenskyy said that when US President Donald Trump succeeds in bringing Ukraine and Russia to the negotiating table, he plans to offer Russia a direct exchange of territories, giving up the land that Kyiv holds in the Kursk Region.
"We will exchange one territory for another," the Ukrainian president said.
Zelenskyy added that he did not know what part of the Russian-occupied land Ukraine would ask for in return. "I don't know, we'll see. But all our territories are important, there is no priority," the president said.
- Recently, during an interview with Reuters, Zelenskyy said that the Ukrainian Armed Forces had launched a counter-offensive and advanced 2.5 km in the Kursk direction.
- The Special Operations Forces command recently released information about the preparation and progress of the offensive on Russian territory.
- This month, following a meeting with British Foreign Secretary David Lammy, Zelenskyy said that the Defence Forces' operation in Kursk would be an important part of the negotiation process.
