Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov posted on his Telegram page about a Russian missile attack around 1am. About half an hour later, the shelling was repeated, and at around 5am, the city was again hit by Russian munitions.
The head of the Kharkiv regional military administration, Oleh Synyehubov, also warned of the danger to the city.
Update. According to updated data, Kharkiv was attacked 24 times during the night. As of 11 a.m., according to the Regional Military Administration, 6 people were wounded, including one child.
"An 80-year-old man was taken to the hospital after being injured by shrapnel. The injured are being provided with highly qualified medical care. The strikes damaged multi-storey and private houses, an educational institution and infrastructure facilities. Specialised services are currently eliminating the consequences of the massive attack," said the head of the Regional Military Administration.
According to preliminary data from prosecutors, Russia fired three Iskander cruise missiles at the city, damaging businesses. In the Osnovyansk district, a missile (probably of the X type) hit near the residential sector, damaging private houses.
At around 3:00-3:30, Russian troops attacked a business in Kharkiv using more than ten attack drones. It has been preliminarily established that the UAVs used were of the Geranium-2 type.
At around 5:00, the third wave of strikes began - another missile attack. A two-storey non-residential building of an enterprise was destroyed in Slobidskyy district. In Nemyshlyanskyy district, a rocket hit a stadium on the territory of a school, causing damage to the educational institution and neighbouring apartment buildings. A man and a woman were injured by glass, and three other residents suffered acute stress reactions. Another rocket hit a restaurant complex in Kyivskyy district, damaging the building. In the village of Bezlyudivka in Kharkiv district, more than 10 private houses were damaged, and a 14-year-old girl suffered an acubarotrauma. According to preliminary data, the enemy used X-type missiles during this series of attacks.
"14 times - by Russian UAVs, 10 times by missiles. The damages include multi-storey residential buildings, a city polyclinic, a school building, private yards, industrial enterprises, and a hotel complex. One person was hospitalised," the mayor said earlier.
As a result of one of the rockets hitting Novobavarskyy district, windows in nearby high-rise buildings were smashed. In Osnovyanskyy district, private houses were damaged. There was information about two victims.
In the morning, the State Emergency Service said that multi-storey and private buildings, an educational institution and infrastructure facilities were damaged in the city.
