On 17 April 2026, the Dudaryk Lviv Municipal Choir performed for Carl XVI Gustaf during his official visit to Lviv. The Ukrainian Institute in Sweden reported this on its Facebook page.

The monarch visited the Bernardine Monastery. Inside the monastery, the Dudaryk choir prepared a musical surprise and performed the traditional Swedish Easter hymn Jesus Kristus är uppstånden, as well as the first movement of Dmytro Bortnyanskyy’s Choral Concerto No. 3.

This symbolic gesture brought together Ukrainian and Swedish musical traditions, highlighting the cultural dialogue between the two countries during the visit.

The Dudaryk Lviv Municipal Choir is the Lviv National Academic Male Choir, founded in 1971 in Lviv by conductor Mykola Katsal. The ensemble specialises in Ukrainian sacred and classical choral music, particularly the works of Dmytro Bortnyanskyy. Dudaryk tours extensively worldwide and is one of the key representatives of Ukrainian choral culture on the international stage.
