The incident involving Ukrainian children occurred in the city of Legnica on the evening of 18 July. A woman approached two 13-year-old Ukrainian citizens near a swimming pool. She hit the children.
The attack was reported on the social network X by Karolina Gałecka, spokesperson for Poland’s Ministry of the Interior. For now, police are carrying out investigative actions in the case.
“No one has the right to use violence against another person, especially a child. It is also unacceptable that the attack most likely occurred because of the teenage girls’ national origin,” Gałecka explained.
The mother of one of the victims noted that the attacker reprimanded the girls for speaking Ukrainian. As RMF reports, she also allegedly insulted the children. The woman justified her actions by the teenagers’ origin.
Polish law enforcement are currently working to identify the suspect and establish all the circumstances of the incident.
- In July, a man attacked two Ukrainian girls on a bus. A Polish man shouted at the 11-year-old children to go back to Ukraine. As it turned out, he was a local driver who was on sick leave. He was fired over the incident.
