The short film Under the Skin of Oranges by Ukrainian director Anna Korshun has been selected for the International Film Festival of Crete & Awards, the National Union of Cinematographers of Ukraine reports.
Under the Skin of Oranges is a nine-minute existential drama based on an Italian folk tale. At the center of the story is Mark, a young man trying to escape loneliness. He meets girls, but ultimately decides to work through his problems with the help of a psychotherapist. However, this path proves far from easy.
At the festival in Crete, Under the Skin of Oranges will be screened on 6 August, 2026.
The film was created as part of the Genres. Academia program of the experimental workshop “Centaurs,” led by director and producer Dmytro Tomashpolskyy, in cooperation with the Institute of Screen Arts of the I. K. Karpenko-Karyy Kyiv National University of Theatre, Cinema and Television and the university itself.
Anna Korshun is a young Ukrainian director and a student at the I. K. Karpenko-Karyy Kyiv National University of Theatre, Cinema and Television.
International Film Festival of Crete & Awards is an annual international film festival in Crete, founded in 2019. This year, the festival will take place and run from 1 to 21 August. It will be held together with the International Documentary Film Festival in Ierapetra.
