Ukraine’s Defence Ministry has urged international partners to ensure an uninterrupted supply of interceptor missiles following one of Russia’s largest ballistic attacks on Kyiv.
This was reported by Ukraine’s Ministry of Defence.
The ministry said that on the night of 19 July, Russian forces launched more than 40 missiles of various types and 125 attack drones at Ukraine, carrying out one of the largest ballistic attacks on Kyiv since the start of the full-scale invasion.
The Defence Ministry stressed that Ukraine’s air defence performed effectively in repelling the attack, but protecting the country requires the constant replenishment of interceptor missile stocks.
“Protection against ballistic missiles is a constant and top priority right now. Our air defence performed excellently, but our warriors need interceptor missiles. They are needed every day. Uninterrupted supply, honouring agreements. These aid packages mean lives saved,” the Defence Ministry emphasised.
The ministry thanked partner countries that continue to support Ukraine by providing air defence systems and anti-ballistic capabilities, as well as increasing sanctions pressure on Russia.
The Defence Ministry also emphasised that the full-scale war has demonstrated the importance of timely decision-making in the security sphere.
“This aggression has taught everyone that decisions must be made on time. Lessons must be learned. We are strengthening international cooperation and working to protect Ukraine and its people,” the ministry said.
