President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Ukrainian intelligence has obtained information about Russia’s plans for the autumn. According to him, they do not envisage an end to the war.
The head of state said this in his evening address.
According to Zelenskyy, the Kremlin is preparing the conditions to expand mobilisation. He cited intelligence data showing that in just under seven months of 2026, 221,000 people were recruited into the Russian army. At the same time, Russian troop losses over this period amounted to nearly 225,500 people. Of these, 131,000 were killed and almost 93,000 were wounded.
The president noted that Vladimir Putin is trying to conceal preparations for a new mobilisation, but in fact is getting ready to bring new people into the war.
Zelenskyy stressed that Ukraine, together with its partners, must increase pressure on Russia to force it to think about ending the war, not about a new mobilisation.
“Our long-range operations, our mid-strikes contribute to this. More and more Russians are noticing Putin’s war and losing from it and are thinking that the war should not be dragged out. We see this,” the head of state added.
Also, according to the president, Russia is deepening military cooperation with North Korea. According to Ukrainian intelligence, Moscow wants to bring in another 30,000 North Korean troops. Infrastructure in Russia’s Voronezh Region has been prepared since June to receive them.
“This is a threat not only to Ukraine. Russia is helping North Korea learn how to wage war, improving their weapons—giving them experience in the real use of weapons,” the head of state stressed.
All of this is a threat to everyone in Asia who is within range of North Korean missiles. Ukraine will counter it, the president’s address said.
