Yesterday, 29 August, three people were killed during a run in the Kharkiv region. Russia struck with a missile.
As the regional prosecutor’s office reported, yesterday at around 09:30 servicemen of the Russian armed forces carried out a missile strike on the territory of one of the settlements in the Berestyn district of the Kharkiv region, where a run was taking place in memory of fallen Heroes of Ukraine.
Preliminarily, the Russian military used an Iskander-M missile.
Three people were killed.
The prosecutor’s office has launched a pre-trial investigation under Part 3 of Article 367 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — official negligence resulting in loss of life. The investigation will examine the actions of officials of the military administration who organised the event.
In particular, it will be established whether officials properly fulfilled their duties to ensure the participants’ safety, whether they took account of the prevailing security situation, and whether all necessary measures were taken to prevent threats to people’s life and health.
The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
