Brigadier General Andriy Biletskyy has denied reports that Svyatohirsk in Donetsk Region has been captured.
He recorded a video address directly from the centre of Svyatohirsk, with the Holy Dormition Svyatohirsk Lavra behind him.
“I want to address the Russian military and military-political leadership. Take off your clown noses and multicoloured wigs. Don’t make fools of yourselves. The 60th Mechanised Brigade of the Third Army Corps fully controls the city. In effect, this is our rear area,” he said.
According to him, in Svyatohirsk “you can walk around without any problems”, albeit in body armour.
- Earlier, Russian dictator Vladimir Putin claimed that Russians had supposedly entered 14 settlements, including Svyatohirsk.
- The Donetsk Regional Military Administration also denied this information.
