Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has announced his arrival in Canada. During the visit, he plans to meet Canada’s Prime Minister Mark Carney.
The head of state wrote about this on social media.
One of the main topics of the talks will be support for Ukraine in defending its skies and preparations for the winter period. Zelensky noted that the sides will also discuss strengthening Ukraine’s resilience, supporting the population, and ensuring the necessary capabilities for defence.
According to the President, the visit includes important meetings and agreements that are expected to shape further co-operation between Ukraine and Canada and to cement the strategic level of bilateral relations for years to come.
"Canada has been and remains one of our closest partners. We value all the support of the Canadian people and the decisions that help Ukraine endure and protect our people," Zelensky said.
The First Lady Olena Zelenska will have a separate programme in Canada. She will meet philanthropists who support Ukraine and will also visit Canadian institutions—counterparts to Ukraine’s Schools of Superheroes.
