On the night of 15 October, starting from 18:00, Russia attacked Ukraine with two Kh-59 guided air-launched missiles from the Black Sea and 580 Shahed and Gerbera-type attack UAVs and decoy drones. They were launched from the directions of Oryol, Millerovo, Shatalovo, Bryansk, Kursk and Primorsko-Akhtarsk in Russia, as well as from occupied Donetsk and Crimea.
According to preliminary information, air defenders neutralised 536 drones. The Air Force reported this.
“Hits by the enemy’s air attack assets have been recorded at 31 locations, as well as the fall of downed drones (debris) at 11 locations,” the statement said.
The air attack was repelled by aircraft, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare and unmanned systems units, and mobile fire groups of the Defence Forces of Ukraine.
The attack is ongoing.
- Yesterday, Air Force spokesperson Yurii Ihnat said that the Defence Forces have improved their interception rate for jet-powered drones. If a month ago it was about 60%, it has now reached 75% in October.
