On the Huliaipole front, Ukrainian troops used a single FPV drone to destroy a bridge beneath which Russian occupiers had set up a stockpile of mortar rounds.

This was reported by the 7th Air Assault Corps of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

According to the military, during an FPV patrol in the area of the settlement of Polohy, soldiers of the 92nd Separate Assault Brigade named after Kosh Otaman Ivan Sirko discovered the hidden ammunition.

The stockpile was located under the bridge deck on one of the Russian army’s logistics routes. The enemy used this route to support its offensive towards Mala Tokmachka and Orikhiv.

Russian troops tried to protect the ammunition depot with mesh barriers. However, Ukrainian FPV drone operators were able to bypass them and strike the target. As a result of the hit, the bridge was destroyed. The outcome of the attack was confirmed during follow-up reconnaissance.

The 7th Air Assault Corps noted that destroying the enemy’s logistics routes is one of the key tasks for units in this sector.

  • In early September, the Defence Forces also destroyed several bridges, making it harder for Russian troops to deliver heavy equipment and supplies.
