Norway has joined the EU’s 21st package of sanctions against Russia.
The new restrictions cover the banking and financial sectors, the oil industry, the provision of cryptocurrency services, as well as Russia’s military-industrial complex, European Pravda reports.
The document pays particular attention to tightening measures against Russia’s “shadow fleet” and expanding import and export bans.
The main aim of the sanctions is to increase economic pressure on Russia and limit its ability to finance the war against Ukraine.
Norway’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has already made the necessary changes to the regulations. The new sanctions take effect on 21 October.
