At today’s meeting with US negotiators in Oslo, Ukraine shared with its European partners details of the previous discussions held in Miami. Today’s talks covered security guarantees and a range of sensitive issues, including territorial matters.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said this at a briefing after the talks concluded. Ukraine continues to believe that territorial issues must be discussed at the highest level.
Zelenskyy stressed that security guarantees for Ukraine must be strong.
“And we talked about very important things: what we will do after the war. We want to bring the end of the war as close as possible,” he said.
In this context, the discussion was about reconstruction and other challenges.
“We are ready for negotiations. It is important for us to show any kind of de-escalation,” Zelenskyy said.
Asked whether Ukraine is losing the war, the President said no, but that it is losing people because of Russian attacks. It is also losing time.
“Our children do not have a real life. A childhood. All people, to be honest,” the head of state said.
