Ukraine continues to work with international partners to strengthen air defence and secure ammunition supplies for F-16 fighter jets. New decisions are being prepared in the near future, and important talks are due to take place in Turkey.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said this in his evening address.

According to the head of state, Ukraine expects that in November it will be possible to reach agreement formats that have been discussed for a long time.

Zelenskyy also spoke about the consequences of Russian attacks on energy infrastructure. He said that throughout the day energy workers and State Emergency Service specialists worked in Dnipro, Kyiv and the region, as well as in other cities and communities, to deal with the aftermath of the strikes and restore power supplies.

The President reported that overnight Russia fired 17 ballistic missiles at Ukraine. He noted that Ukrainian air defence forces shoot down a significant share of attack drones, but the situation with ballistic missiles is more difficult, particularly due to a shortage of Patriot systems.

In Dnipro, Russian forces repeatedly struck energy infrastructure and the railway station during the day and in the evening. As a result, additional emergency power cuts were introduced. Zelenskyy assured that there are sufficient forces and equipment for restoration.

Russian forces also carried out a ballistic strike on Kremenchuk in Poltava Region. The target was oil refining infrastructure.

Separately, the President reported new decisions for Ukraine’s Foreign Intelligence Service and the Security Service of Ukraine. This concerns increasing the number of units carrying out long-range strike missions.

“Ukraine’s long-range capability is our long-term security guarantee, our guarantee that our state’s independence exists and will continue to exist,” Zelenskyy stressed.

The head of state also said that a humanitarian mission is under way in Oleshky. According to him, people are heading to Ukraine, and all Ukrainian services and the Defence Forces are helping to rescue as many citizens as possible.

Zelenskyy thanked everyone involved in the recovery work, those helping Ukraine with air defence, and those supporting humanitarian missions.
