Fighters from the Third Assault Brigade destroyed a Russian military Mi-8 helicopter in the Luhansk region. Two Hornet kamikaze drones were used in the attack.

This was reported by the Third Army Corps.

During a raid on Russian logistics, a kamikaze UAV team from the SKYFOM strike-wing platoon of the Unmanned Systems Battalion spotted the enemy helicopter and flew to intercept it. The corps said this forced the Russian crew to change course.

As the helicopter’s cruising speed exceeded that of the strike drones, the fighters waited for it to land. The first Hornet then struck the area around the fuel tanks, while the second confirmed the target had been hit.

According to the Third Army Corps, the helicopter burned out completely. The Russian army uses the Mi-8 to transport personnel and cargo, carry out evacuations, and provide fire support.
