Ukraine hopes to maintain support among both Republicans and Democrats in both chambers of the US Congress after the midterm elections, and is urging American politicians to step up pressure on Russia.
This was stated by Ukraine’s Chargé d’Affaires in the United States, Denys Senik, Ukrinform reports «Ukrinform».
The diplomat stressed that the elections may have changed the political balance of power, but Ukraine’s priorities remain unchanged. The Ukrainian side plans to continue close co-operation with the administration of President Donald Trump. The diplomatic mission is convinced that the United States has the necessary global leadership to secure a just and lasting peace.
Senik urged representatives of both US parties not only to maintain support for Ukraine, but also to increase pressure on Moscow.
