After the fifth day of competitions in the Paralympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Ukrainian team holds third place in the medal standings.
Overall Ukrainian athletes have garnered 61 medals so far, including 22 gold, 19 silver and 20 bronze.
On Monday, gold medals went to Ihor Tsvetov (run 200m, T35 category), Anton Dacko (fencing in wheelchairs, saber, category B), Andriy Demchuk (fencing in wheelchairs, saber, category A) and Denis Dubrov (swimming, 100m, butterfly, category S10). For Tsvetov and Dubrov it was the second gold. Dubrov also boasts one silver and two bronze medals.
Silver medals were awarded to Oksana Boturchuk (run 200m, T12 category) Yaroslav Denysenko (swimming, 400m freestyle, category S13), Anna Stetsenko (swimming, 400m freestyle, category S13), Olha Sviderska (complex swimming, 150 m, SM4 category), Maxym Kripak (swimming, 100m butterfly, S10 category), Yevhen Bohodayko (swimming, 50m butterfly, S7 category). These were the fourth medals for Maxym and Yevhen: two silver and two gold; and one gold, one silver and two bronze, respectively.
Bronze winners were Roman Pavlyk (long jump, T36 category) and Maryna Piddubna (swimming, 50m freestyle, S11 category).
After five days of competition, the first in medal standings are Chinese (50 gold, 40 silver, 28 bronze), the second are the Brits (28 gold, 16 silver, 19 bronze).
