G7 envoys express support for NABU
"Independent anti-corruption institutions are vital for Ukraine's future."
Ambassadors of the G7 countries in Ukraine (USA, Canada, UK, Germany, France, Italy, and Japan) expressed their support for the National Anticorruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU).
"G7 ambassadors continue to support the NABU. Independent anticorruption institutions are vital to Ukraine's reform efforts, credibility, and future as a modern, prosperous and democratic state," reads the statement posted in the website of the Italian embassy in Ukraine.
On Wednesday, Ukrainian media reported that the G7 ambassadors at a meeting with the director of the NABU, Artem Sytnyk, and Specialised Anticorruption Prosecutor's Office head Nazar Kholodnytskyy advised Ukrainian law enforcers to stay away from politics.
