Over the past day, Russia-backed terrorist forces have five times violated the regime of silence in Donbas. Amid the enemy attacks, no Ukrainian soldier was killed or wounded, ATO HQ said in a Facebook release on 2 January.
In the Luhansk sector, the militants fired 82-mm mortars and heavy machine guns near the village of Luhanske, ATO headquarters said.
In the Donetsk sector, enemy fire activity was observed in the Azov Sea coastal sector, where the enemy used 120- and 82-mm mortars and infantry weapons in Pavlopil.
The separatists fired grenade launchers and small arms at the strong points of the ATO forces stationed outside Vodyane. In the area of Verkhnyotoretske, the enemy released ten 82-mm mortar projectiles at the positions of Ukrainian defenders and fired small arms.
On 31 December, the militants seven times shelled the positions of the ATO forces. One Ukrainian military was wounded.
