The trilateral contact group on a Donbas settlement has issued a statement in which the sides committed to a comprehensive and indefinite ceasefire effective as of 1 July 2018.

Darka Olifer, spokesperson for Ukrainian negotiator Leonid Kuchma, said that Ukraine also insisted on a complete ceasefire.

However, it also requested security guarantees from Russia, the return of paramilitary groups to the delineation line set by the 19 September 2014 memorandu, and said that it was essential for the OSCE Social Monitoring Mission to ensure monitoring and verification of areas cleared of heavy weapons and hardware in the area of Kalmiuske, Novoazovsk, Sakhanka and Kumachove.
