The Prosecutor-General's Office has information that may help investigators find those who carried out and ordered the assassination of journalist Pavel Sheremet, Prosecutor-General Yuriy Lutsenko has said in an interview with the Ukrayinska Pravda news website.
"Over the past month, we have got a trail which might give us an answer to this question. I keep it under my control. Very active investigative actions are underway. That is it. I won't say a word more," he said.
There are no suspects in the case, he added.
"But for the sake of investigation, I cannot tell you more. We have some information which may help us find at least the killers and later the masterminds. Perhaps. I would like to highlight this word. I have a personal motive to ensure effective control over the case," he said.
Pavlo Sheremet was killed when a car he was driving blew up in central Kiev on 20 July 2016.
