A man got killed as he was planting a booby trap under the car allegedly belonging to a Ukrainian intelligence agent.
According to the Prosecutor-General's Office, he died of multiple wounds after the explosive suddenly went off as he was attaching it to the car.
Yuriy Butusov, editor-in-chief of the Censor.net news website, said the target of the botched operation was an "officer of the Ukrainian intelligence who took part in the Joint Forces Operation in Donbas".
The Mykolayiv news website Prestupnosti.net said it was an attempt on the life of an officer of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Defence Ministry.
