Israel's national memorial to the Catastrophe and Heroism Yad Vashed condemned Russia’s strike that killed five people in Kyiv and damaged the Holocaust Memorial in Babyn Yar.
“We call on the international community to take steps to ensure the security of civilians as well historical sites, the statement says. We strongly condemn Russia’s fatal strike on the outskirts of Kyiv’s Babyn Yar, the Holocaust memorial site. When we look at photos from Ukraine, where we see how innocent people are leaving their homes, and the photos of Russia’s fatal strike on the outskirts of the Holocaust memorial site in Babyn Yar, we, as an institution, want to express our condemnation.”
Yad Vashem also urged to respect the safety of the civilians.
“We are deeply concerned about the horrific violence that peaceful people of Ukraine have experienced,” - says the Israeli institution that aims to preserve the memory of the Holocaust.
Yesterday, due to the shelling of Kyiv TV Tower, five people died, five more were injured.
