On March 4, Spain will send a shipment of offensive weapons to Ukraine. It will be delivered to Poland first. This was stated by Margarita Robles, the head of the Ministry of Defense of the Kingdom, Interfax-Ukraine reports refer to TV channel Antena 3.
In particular, it concerns 1,370 grenade launchers, 700,000 rounds to rifles and machine-gun, as well as light machine guns, the minister said.
"All this will fly on Friday morning by Air Force planes to Poland, to the nearest with Ukraine border point, and there they will be taken by the Ukrainian authorities," Robles said in an interview with Antena 3.
According to her, this is the first but "very important" shipment because these weapons can be used by people who do not have much experience using weapons."
Earlier, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba said that Spain supports EU sanctions against Russia and prepares additional practical assistance for Ukraine.
