German authorities seized the yacht of the Russian billionaire, Alisher Usmanov, who is on the EU sanctions list in connection with Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Forbes reported it, citing three sources in the yacht business.
The Russian oligarch’s yacht has been under repair at Hamburg shipbuilding factory Blohm+Voss since October 2021. According to the American media, the specialists working on the repair did not come into work on Wednesday. A Forbes source explained that it might be connected with Germany’s decision to seize Usmanov’s property.
The value of Usmanov’s “Dilbar'' yacht is estimated to be $600 million. German shipbuilding company Lürssen built it for the oligarch in 2016. According to Forbes, at 15,917 ton displacement, this is the largest yacht in the world, with a crew consisting of 96 people.
