"I want to thank the people of Kyiv for their endurance and for following safety rules. I especially want to thank the volunteers. Today, they are collecting aid, delivering it to those who need it, and preparing dinners for our defenders from territorial defence units. It is essential! Thanks also to the business that responded and offered what it could provide and with what it could help. Kievans, Ukrainians! You are all patriots of your land. Hearty, responsive and brave!" said VitaliyKlitschko.
He said the enemy was trying to break through to the capital, and fighting was continuing near Kyiv - in Bucha, Irpin, and Hostomel. Enemy shells flew to Kyiv.
"In the city, in some areas, several shells hit the yards. Thank God there are no casualties. Several cars caught fire. There is a damaged private house. The premises of one of the police departments of Podilskyi district were damaged. In the evening, several explosions were heard in the city. According to preliminary information, one of them was in the railway station area. We are now finding out the details," said the mayor.
Klitschko advised not to go to the city by private transport without extreme necessity.
"Ukrainian defenders are defending and stopping the occupiers on the outskirts of the capital. Ukraine will be free and European! We will win, although it will be difficult. Let's stand together! Glory to Ukraine!" Vitaliy Klitschko emphasized.
