Albanian consulate in Kharkiv destroyed by Russian missiles

Russian missiles demolished the Albanian honorary consulate in Kharkiv as reported by Euractiv.

The consulate said its staff was safe and there had been no casualties. Albanian foreign ministry condemned the attack.

Earlier today, Russia added Albania to its ‘enemy list’. The reason is that on 27 February, Albania joined the EU in imposing sanctions against Russia for its invasion of Ukraine.

As of 8 March, the civil infrastructure facilities in Kharkiv, Mykolayiv, Buchansky district of Kyiv region and Korostensky district of Zhytomyr region suffered the most large-scale consequences of hostilities.

From 6 to 7 March, Russian troops carried out renewed shelling and air attacks on residential areas and other facilities in Kharkiv and rural areas of the region resulting in many destructions and fires. From 11 p.m. on 6 March, the regional defence headquarters recorded the shelling of houses in Oleksiyivka, Pivnichna Saltivka, Pyatykhatky and in the area of Kharkiv Tractor Plant. Barabashovo and 1st kilometer markets were also affected.
