The head of Ivano-Frankivsk city Ruslan Martsinkiv confirmed that there were explosions in the city. This was reported by the public broadcaster. Municipal enterprise “Elektroavtotrans” noted that it has temporarily restricted traffic in the local airport area.
Earlier, residents of the city reported on social networks that they heard explosions in Ivano-Frankivsk.
Martsinkov published a video message on Facebook, where he asked people not to publish photos and videos of the consequences of the explosions on social networks, in regards not to help the enemy adjust the directions. The head of Ivano-Frankivsk city also said that the alarm system in the city did not work.
"There are explosions at our airport. We will find out why the warning system of the Armed Forces did not work. Let's be very careful," he said.
