US President Joe Biden has signed a decree banning the import of dollar bills into Russia.
In early March, the Council of the European Union issued a decision banning the import of euro banknotes into Russia.
The EU has banned its individuals and legal entities from selling, supplying, transferring or exporting euro denominated banknotes to Russia or sending them in any way for use in Russia.
The ban does not apply to the importation into the Russian Federation of cash necessary to finance the work of embassies, consulates or missions of international organizations, but only those with diplomatic immunity.
