On Friday, 11 March, the former vice-reactor of the Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs, Colonel Valeriy Moskovets tragically died during the shell bombing.

This was reported by the Head of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration Oleh Synyehubov.

He told, that during shell bombing of the civil infrastructure in the city of Derhachi near Kharkiv, the shell hit the house of the former vice-rector. The 21-year-old granddaughter of Valeriy Moskovets Anastasiya was in the house. She also died.

“We knew each other personally, I worked under his direction for some time. I knew Valeriy Ivanovych as a very decent, honest, and professional person, an exemplary family man – father and grandfather. Memory eternal and our deepest sympathy to his family. The Kharkiv region loses the best people almost every day. We will never forgive the enemy!” Synyehubov wrote.

The information was confirmed by the Head of the Department of the National Police in the Kharkiv region, humanitarian issues assistant, Vyacheslav Markov. He added, that at one time the deceased was the head of the district police department in Derhachi.
