On Friday, 11 March 2022, the workers of the first cargo area of the SE "CS "Chornomorsk" (State Enterprise "Commercial Seaport" Chornomorsk") took their shift for the first time in almost two weeks.

This was reported by the seaport website.

Due to the full-scale invasion of Ukraine by the troops of the Russian Federation starting on 27 February 2022, all Ukrainian ports were closed to ships. At the same time, all loading and unloading operations on the SE "CS "Chornomorsk" territory were stopped. In particular, 12,000 tons of coking coal, awaited by Kryvorizhstal, 63,000 tons of thermal coal, which is necessary for Kyiv TPP, and 60,000 tons of bentonite, were still stored in the first cargo area, "the statement said.

The gondola cars were loaded with coking coal, wagons for thermal coal, and bentonite are still expected to arrive. At the same time, the unloading of the first wagons with steel rolls (the accumulation of the ship party continues) is underway; they will be waiting for their ship after the ports are open. Currently, there are only day shifts, and work continues from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. so that workers have time to get home before the curfew, which begins at 7 p.m. in Chornomorsk.

The Seaport "Chernomorsk" (SE "CS Chornomorsk," until 2017 - SE "Illichivsk Sea Commercial Port") is one of the largest ports in Ukraine and the enterprise of the country's transport system. It is located in the city of Chornomorsk, Odesa region.
