Ukrainian team finishes this year’s Paralympic competitions in Beijing with 29 medals and takes second place.
This was announced by the Prime Minister of Ukraine, Desis Shmygal.
He congratulated the Ukrainians on the wonderful results.
“Today was the last day of the Winter Paralympic Games in Beijing. Our team took second place, yielding only to the host team. 29 medals! 29 times the Ukrainian flag was raised over the stand. Good job! Your results show the whole world one more time: Ukraine is the winner! Ukrainians are unbreakable! We are proud of you”, the Prime Minister posted on his Telegram channel.

The Winter Paralympic Games in Beijing commenced on 4 March and continued with the Russian invasion of Ukraine in the background. Russian and Belorussian athletes were prohibited from participating in the competition.
During the festive Opening Ceremony, where the head of China People’s Republic Xi Jinping was present, the Head of the International Paralympic Committee Andrew Parsons spoke out emotionally, calling for the adherence to the traditions of the Olympic truce.
