The Speaker of the Parliament of Ukraine, Ruslan Stefanchuk, said that Ukrainian border guards detain men who are trying to evade military service and go abroad every day.

In his Facebook page, the speaker noted that "during the mobilization to flee from your country is a crime (Article 336 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine), betrayal and great shame."

"I would like to address first all those who organized the business based on this. Article 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine establishes strict liability for illegal transportation of people across the state border. In case when such actions involve transportation of several people, were conducted repeatedly, or by the prior conspiracy of a group of people, the penalty is imprisonment is from 5 to 7 years.

If such actions are conducted for money, a person faces up to 9 years in prison. - Stefanchuk emphasized

The speaker of the Parliament of Ukraine said that vehicles used for illegal transportation of people across the state border are subject to special confiscation, along with all "income" from unlawful activities.

"Do not force the parliament to take more decisive steps to counter this shameful phenomenon, as we did recently regarding looting," Stefanchuk added.

On 5 March 2022, border guards detained about 20 men under 60 who were trying to cross the state border.

In the Lviv region, the SBGS detained a DNR separatist trying to flee to Poland.
