President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has appointed Oleksandr Pavlyuk, the ex-commander of the Joint Forces Operation a new Head of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration (RMA) to strengthen the capital's defense. The President announced this during his video address.
"The occupiers continue to consider the invasion of Kyiv as their key goal. A political goal. They hope that control over Kyiv will give them control over Ukraine. To further strengthen the defense of the capital and Kyiv region, I have appointed Oleksandr Pavliuk, the Hero of Ukraine, lieutenant general, ex-commander of the Joint Forces Operation, head of the regional military administration, " – Zelenskyy said.
According to the President, the previous head of the RMA, Oleksiy Kuleba, will help the military leadership.
The Kyiv direction and the situation in the region are receiving even more attention.
Oleksandr Pavlyuk commanded the Joint Forces since July, 2021.
