Ihor Kalabukhov, Russian Ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina, declared that Russia has “plans” for NATO members Croatia, Hungary, Poland as well as for Bosnia and Herzegovina as potential Alliance members.
Kalabukhov said about it on the air of Bosnian channel Face TV, reports Croatian media outlet Index.hr.
"We are not against joining (Bosnia and Herzegovina. - LB.ua) to NATO. This is not a threat, perhaps a warning. It's up to you. It's like a closed circle, I have already said about it... Let’s say, for example, Bosnia and Herzegovina becomes a NATO member, and Brussels decides to put nuclear missiles aimed at Moscow. We will assess the strategic situation and therefore, I think, the way out of this should be the European system, not NATO", the Russian ambassador said.
When asked why Russia is not concerned about neighboring countries that are already NATO members, he replied: "How do you know that we have no plans against Croatia, Hungary, Poland?".
To a clarifying question about "plans against Croatia", Kalabukhov replied: "Against NATO. We have plans against NATO. We assess the geostrategic situation, look where the threats come from, and react ".
Earlier, Ihor Kalabukhov threatened Bosnia and Herzegovina with "an example of Ukraine" if it decided to join NATO.
