The square in front of the Russian Consulate in Toronto, Canada has been renamed Free Ukraine Square.
This was announced on Twitter by Josh Matlow, who represents the area where the consulate is located.
"Today I was very pleased to present our new sign "Free Ukraine Square" in front of the Russian Consulate on St. Clair Avenue," he wrote.
"We support Ukraine and the Ukrainian people. Glory to Ukraine!” Matlow added.
A simplified temporary stay program for Ukrainian refugees has been launched in Canada. There is a special Canada-Ukraine authorization for emergency travel (CUAET).
With CUAET, Ukrainians and their next of kin of any nationality can stay in Canada as temporary residents for up to three years.
