The enemy is trying to turn Chernihiv into the second Mariupol, but not only it won’t be able to enter the city, but also it won’t even be able to approach it.
This was stated by the Adviser of the head of the President's Office Oleksiy Arestovych at a briefing about the situation on the fronts.
According to Arestovich, during the past 24hrs, the Ukrainian military shot down six enemy planes, and now the total number of shot down planes is 105. It is more than five air regiments, or a separate air army.
"The enemy continues to attack Mariupol. The defenders of the city are heroically resisting, demonstrating high military professionalism," Arestovich said.
He also stated that the commander of the 810th Marine Navy Brigade of the russian Army had been shot dead by a Ukrainian sniper in Mariupol the day before, and this was the fifth loss of a commander of this level in the enemy’s army.
The situation is also difficult in Chernihiv. The Russian army is trying to turn it into a second Mariupol. The city has no electricity, water, gas, and almost no heat. But there are humanitarian corridors and ways of military supplies. Arestovich expressed confidence that the enemy would not only not be able to take Chernihiv, it would not even be able to approach it.
Arestovich also said that in the area from Izyum to Volnovakha, the enemy stopped active hostilities due to heavy losses.
