The Ukrainian army destroyed the russian landing ship ‘Orsk’ near the port of Berdyansk in Zaporizhzhya. The Naval Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces published this message on their official webpage.

“The landing ship ‘Orsk’ belonging to the army of occupiers was destroyed near the port of Berdyansk. Glory to Ukraine!” the statement said.

According to ZN.ua, there are explosions and fire in the port of Berdyansk, which is temporarily occupied by russia. Russian landing ships urgently left the port.

According to the publication, photos and videos of explosions in the port of Berdyansk appeared on social networks at around 8:00 am on 24 March.

Residents of Berdyansk say that two powerful explosions happened at 6:40 am. They could be heard all over the city, and people woke people from them. Fuel tanks and warehouses are currently burning in the port.

The explosion sank one of the russian ships, two more were damaged.

Update: The State Emergency Service of Ukraine confirmed that the Ukrainian Armed Forces damaged two more ships. The 3000-ton fuel tank was also destroyed. The fire spread to the enemy ammunition depot. Other details of the damage inflicted on the occupier are being clarified.

Update at 11:05 am: The Head of the Committee of the National Security, Defense and Intelligence in the Ukrainian Parliament Oleksandr Zavitnevych announced the names of two other damaged enemy ships. These are the landing ships ‘Kunikov’ and ‘Novocherkask’. The losses among the ships’ crews are 11 wounded and 3 dead, wrote the member of the parliament on Facebook.

Also, the fire broke out on the large landing ship ‘Saratov’.

"Earlier this week, the large landing ship ‘Orsk’ arrived in the port of Berdyansk, delivering military equipment and occupiers. 10 such russian ships participating in the war against Ukraine," he added.
