On 24 March 2022, the Russian occupiers reduced aircraft activity in Ukraine's airspace; instead, they increased the presence of operational-tactical and other UAVs (unmanned aircraft vehicles) for air reconnaissance.

This was reported by the Command of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

"Anti-aircraft missiles hit one UAV of operational and tactical level. In addition, anti-aircraft missile forces of the Air Force of Ukraine destroyed one Su-34 fighter-bomber in Kharkiv region and four cruise missiles," - says the statement. "The Aviation of Air Force continues to patrol the airspace, cover troops and targets, and strike aircraft on ground targets that are columns of armored military vehicles and equipment, logistics centers, and rascist [russian+fascist] forces."

As of the morning of 24 March 2022, the Armed Forces of Ukraine destroyed more than 280 Russian air targets, including 108 aircraft, 124 helicopters, and 50 UAVs of operational and tactical level.
