On 26 March 2022, the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine shot down only one enemy aircraft, as Russia has significantly reduced aircraft activity in the airspace of Ukraine and mainly conducts massive missile strikes.
This was reported by the Command of the Air Force of the UAF (Armed Forces of Ukraine).
"For the second day in a row, the Russian criminal regime implements air terror - dozens of cruise and ballistic missiles fly to peaceful Ukrainian cities. The Russians launch them from the sea, land, and air from outside Ukraine. The occupiers fired six such missiles at Lviv. However, it is clear why Lviv has become Putin's target today. This is a slap on the face of the President of the United States, who at the moment was about 10 minutes of flight away from Lviv when the city was attacked," - the statement reads.
"After such an act of the Kremlin Fuhrer, it is time to decide and hand over to Ukraine modern anti-aircraft missile systems of Western production, as well as F-15, F-16, or F-18 aircraft! We need those to have a possibility to fight in the sky with the overwhelming forces of the enemy, having equal weapons in both quantity and quality. We will close the sky ourselves, just give us some weapons! "- added the military.
In addition to the aircraft, the Ukrainian Air Force also destroyed at least 12 drones of various types and two cruise missiles. Also, assault troops using portable missile systems shot down three more Russian cruise missiles.
The UAF notes that the Russian militaries are actively using UAVs (unmanned aircraft vehicles) of various types, from operational and tactical to quadcopters, to conduct air reconnaissance and reconnaissance of targets; Ukrainian air defense forces keep destroying them.
Air Force aircraft continue to be active in the sky; the fighters patrol the airspace, intercept air targets, and protect troops and objects. In addition, attack aircraft continue to strike russist [russian+fascist] troops in specific directions.
Today in his speech in Warsaw, Joe Biden warned the Russian President about aggression against NATO countries. However, he noted that Russia's aggression against Ukraine, which is not a member of the Alliance, does not require direct US intervention.
