UK is ready to become a security guarantor for Ukraine

The United Kingdom is ready to become one of the guarantors of security for Ukraine if a relevant international agreement is to be signed, as stated by UK’s Permanent Representative to the UN Barbara Woodward during a briefing.

“My Prime Minister (Boris Johnson - LB.ua) has talks with President Zelensky almost every day. We encourage all efforts to help end the war, to ensure the withdrawal of Russian troops. And we will be happy to play this part if Ukraine asks, yes,” Woodward said.

She also said that Britain had sent a significant military aid to Ukraine and allocated 400 million pounds of humanitarian aid.

Earlier, British Foreign Secretary Liz Truss said that Ukraine should not be sold in peace talks with Russia.

“We must ensure that any future negotiations do not end with the sale of Ukraine or the repetition of past mistakes,” Truss said.
