One of the units of the National Guard of Ukraine (NGU) captured russian equipment during combat in the Kyiv region as war trophy, as reported on the Facebook page of the NGU.
2S3 (152.4 mm self-propelled gun) and MT-LB (multi-purpose fully amphibious auxiliary armored tracked vehicle) have already been towed to the rear for repairs.
"Of course, we did not copy Ukrainian farmers and used our own equipment instead of tractors!", - NGU were joking.
The trophies will be repaired and will be used by the NGU unit to continue combat in the Kyiv region.
Russian troops retreating from Kyiv left behind very rare types of equipment, like a radar-equipped air defense command post vehicle, which is a part of a larger system known as Barnaul-T. It is able to detect and hit targets at ranges from hundreds of meters to 40 kilometers. It also offers digital data processing and transmission capability.
