The head of the Donetsk Region Military Administration (RMA) Pavlo Kyrylenko has said that the region is preparing for a possible escalation. The official is convinced that the occupiers will try to "make up" for their losses at the expense of Donbas, Suspilne.media reported.

Kyrylenko said that a Russian attack on Donbas is inevitable and expected.

"They (Russians - ed.) understand that they need to make up for their losses. At the expense of Donbas. This is obvious, this is logical and it is very, very likely. My perception of the probability of this happening is 100%. We understand what will likely happen in Donbas based on what is happening now, what kind of regrouping the enemy arranges, and therefore we are getting ready. It is a fact," Kyrylenko said.

The head of the Donetsk RMA noted that the authorities are preparing for Russians to try and besiege cities, as is happening in Mariupol, launch missile strikes to intimidate civilians and that the occupants do not plan to stop within the administrative borders of Donetsk and Luhansk regions. Kyrylenko added that it is necessary to realize that the situation will worsen.

As a reminder, the situation in Donetsk Region is stably tense, according to the RMA report on 3 April. Avdiyyvka, Maryinka, Krasnohorivka, Toretsk, Ocheretyane faced shelling and reported extensive damage to residential buildings, direct hits at a school and a church. The Russians fired rockets on Bakhmut. One civilian was killed. The situation in blockaded Mariupol has not changed.

In Luhansk Region, constant shelling of cities, fighting in some neighborhoods of Rubizhne and Popasna are reported. In Severodonetsk, six high-rise buildings and a shop were set on fire, in Rubizhne the same happened to five residential buildings, and in Lysychansk to two.
