UN Security Council turns down russian request for session on "Ukrainian radicals"

The United Nations Security Council will not hold the session on April 04 at demand of russia to discuss the “blatant provocation of the Ukrainian radicals in Bucha”.

According to the statement of the representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the russian federation, the russia’s demand was declined by Great Britain presiding now in the Security Council.

Maria Zakharova complained that Britain while acting “in the worst British traditions did not approve of holding the session of the UN Security Council on the situation in Bucha”. She stated that russia would demand again to convene the session of the UN Security Council, informs ВВС.

Making reference to the British delegation, Reuters also informs that the discussion of the situation in Ukraine will take place on Tuesday as planned.

Earlier, both Ukraine and russia demanded to convene an extraordinary session of the UN Security Council to discuss the events in Bucha.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy in his evening address on April 03 stated that “war crimes in Bucha and other cities during russian occupation will be a matter for discussion at the UN Security Council on Tuesday (April 05, – edit.)".

Later, however, the Deputy representative of russia to the United Nations Organization Dmitry Polyansky wrote in Telegram that russia demands to hold the session earlier, on Monday. The topic for the session was indicated by him as “provocation of the Ukrainian radicals”.

russia has launched a large-scale information campaign after the world has seen the photos of the crimes of the occupants against civilians in Bucha in the Kyiv region. russists deny their involvement in murders and torture of the civilians or accuse Ukraine of these crimes.

The occupants state, in particular, that this is another “staging made by the Kyiv regime” or that “all russian units have been completely withdrawn from Bucha on March 30”, or that “no exists from Bucha were blocked”.

The Center for Countering Disinformation under the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine called these statements fakes and denied them.

It should be reminded that yesterday President Zelenskyy called on Merkel and Sarkosi to visit Bucha to see the aftermath of 14 years of the concession policy towards russia.

The world leaders demand to bring to justice everyone involved in the “Bucha massacre”. The Poles demand the EU to supply weapons to the Ukrainians, and the Brits promise to “starve the rf war machine”.

President of Moldova Sandu declared April 04 the day of mourning for all Ukrainian lives lost.

Irpin, Bucha, Hostomel, and the entire Kyiv region were liberated from the Russian invaders. Mass murders of civilian population by the russians have been registered in the liberated cities and villages.

The victims of war crimes of the russian troops found this far include raped women whose bodies the russians tried to burn, murdered representatives of local self-governing authorities, children, old people, and men. Many of them have their hands tied, have signs of torture on their bodies, and many of them were killed by a shot in the back of the head.

According to Prosecutor General Iryna Venediktova, by the evening of April 03, 410 bodies of the civil victims of the occupants have been removed from the liberated territory of the Kyiv region.
