Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has invited French President Emmanuel Macron to Ukraine so that he sees the atrocities of russian troops with his own eyes and understands that this isn't just a war, this is a genocide of the Ukrainian people.

Zelenskyy made this statement in an interview for the CNN channel.

"I would like him to understand that this isn't a war, this is nothing but a genocide. I have invited him to come when he has such an opportunity. He will come, see and, I'm sure, understand", - the president of Ukraine said.

Zelenskyy also noted that he had talked with Macron last week.

He added that the president of France diplomatically communicated with Putin lately as he wished to make some steps for russia to engage in a dialogue".

Zelenskyy also declared he would like US President Joe Biden to visit Ukraine.

Macron who received the greatest support of the French people in the first round of the new president elections refused to call russia's actions in the war against Ukraine a genocide and called russians and Ukrainians brothers. At the same time, the presidents of Poland and the USA are convinced that President Putin deliberately kills the Ukrainian people.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine reacted to Macron's words and highlighted that Ukraine and russia were close because of historical circumstances but the brotherhood of the peoples is fictional. "Ukraine and russia are historically close for objective reasons but the myth about the two brother peoples of russia and Ukraine started to demolish after the occupation of Crimea and the aggression in Donbas in 2014. MFA Speaker Oleg Nikolenko highlighted that after russian troops committed mass crimes and murders, no one has a moral right to talk about "the brotherhood".

President Zelenskyy also noted that he would like to have a discussion with Macron on his statement.
