Four evacuation buses with Mariupol residents arrived in Zaporizhia.
This was reported by the State Emergency Service.
"Tired, but safe" - so ended the mission to save the people of Mariupol today. 79 Mariupol residents arrived in Zaporizhia in evacuation column" is said in the statement.
The State Emergency Service also said that three buses were stuck in dirt on the bypass road near the village of Kamyanske. Rescuers helped them to get out of a trap, and eventually the column was able to continue to the destination.
"Currently, all people are safe and in Zaporizhia," the Service said.
Yesterday four evacuation buses managed to leave Mariupol - they spent the night in Berdyansk and then continued their way to Zaporizhia.
However, yesterday the humanitarian corridor did not work as planned because the occupiers were unable to ensure a proper ceasefire. Adviser to the President's Office Mykhailo Podoliak and the head of the Ukrainian delegation on negotiations with russia, Davyd Arahamiya, said they were ready to go to Mariupol to negotiate the evacuation of both civilians and Azov Regiment worriers.
